Raina here :). Well, we announced in Church today while doing the praise and worship that we are going to India! It is so exciting, but also kind of humbling to have to raise money for something. It is a hard step of faith to take, but I know that people want to be a part of something and what we are doing, so it is easier to think of the money going straight back up to God. So thank you to everybody who has or is thinking of contributing money, and know that even though our prideful hearts are having a hard time with it, we appreciate it so much.
Our list of things to do to get ready keeps growing. 12 weeks to be somewhere is not long at all in the grand scheme of life, but it seems like we he have to prepare like we are leaving for years! An important part of our planning though involves introducing me to curry...I have never had Indian food...hopefully it will be a good time. I am also taking TNCC at work (a Trauma class) so that I can get ready to "teach" Trauma in India. It should be interesting. KC has been so great about being open and able to adapt to anything-they don't really know exactly what he will be doing when we get there. The hospital we will be going to is called "Dhamtari Christian Hospital" Click here to go to the hospital's website We are told that it is a small hospital, in a very rural town. The name of the city we are going to is Dhamtari, in the state of Chhattisgarh, India. When KC asked how we can get around in the city, we were told that there are only a couple roads so we can just walk :). Click here to see a Google map of Dhamtari It has been fun to play around with the maps and see what is nearby.
Time to go back to letter addressing-or maybe a nap :-). We are so thankful to everybody for support and prayers as we grow in our faith!
